Why Adequate Inventory Is Crucial

Why Adequate Inventory Is Crucial

For startup shoe companies or brands, we understand that entrepreneurs often need to strictly control costs in the early stages. However, the healthy development of a brand is not just a numbers game; it requires strategic planning. In this article, we will explore why ordering a larger quantity of shoes in the early stages is essential for the success of your brand.

Why We Set an MOQ of 600 Pairs per Color?

We set an MOQ of 600 pairs per color based on a comprehensive consideration of market demand, production efficiency, and brand development strategy. Take slippers as an example: suppose each color covers 10 sizes, with 60 pairs per size. This not only effectively meets market demand but also ensures cost efficiency in production.

Market Demand and Trend Forecasting

Market Demand and Trend Forecasting

Market demand is often unpredictable, especially in the footwear industry. As consumer preferences rapidly change, brands must have sufficient inventory. A smaller inventory may leave you unprepared to face challenges in a fast-changing market. Believe me, I’ve seen too many brands miss opportunities due to inventory shortages.

Speed of Market Response

For designer shoes, a fast response time is key to opening up sales. For shoes with a unique design, your customers may fall in love at first sight and want to purchase them immediately. If you lack inventory, you may lose many of your direct target customers. A quick response helps enhance your brand’s favorability and loyalty among consumers.

Confidence in Your Shoe Design

As a footwear entrepreneur, before you find suppliers and manufacturers, you must be confident in your design. In the early stages of new product development, part of your cost should go towards inviting influencers or people with influence in your local area to review your products. In this context, a low inventory approach is clearly not advisable. If your brand gains recognition, you will quickly receive orders, and a low inventory strategy will waste your promotional efforts.

Production and Cost Efficiency

Mass production is more cost-effective than small-scale production. Larger quantities mean better distribution of labor and material costs. In the long run, this not only saves the entrepreneur money but also improves profit margins.

Marketing and Promotion

A successful marketing and promotion campaign requires sufficient product inventory to support it. This is crucial for large-scale promotions such as online and offline events, discount sales, etc.

Reducing the Risk of Stockouts and Customer Loss

Stockouts not only damage brand reputation but can also cause your customers to turn to competitors. Adequate inventory can continuously meet market demand and increase customer loyalty.

Stability in Supply Chain Production

Larger orders help establish more stable relationships with upstream suppliers, ensuring consistency in materials and quality. This stability will also be reflected in your customers’ orders.

Uncertainty in Production Time

Many entrepreneurs choose suppliers and manufacturers in China because they can ensure production capacity and quality. However, for entrepreneurs in different countries, the time needed for production and restocking can be a significant challenge.

Take the U.S. market as an example: it takes 15 days to manufacture shoes in China, and shipping to the U.S. takes about a month. Including local transportation and customs clearance, it can take nearly two months. During this time, you cannot afford to have stockouts. If a stockout occurs, as mentioned in point 6, you risk losing customers to competitors.

Conclusion

In summary, adequate inventory is not only the foundation for brand development but also the key to explosive brand growth. We hope to establish long-term partnerships with brand entrepreneurs, pursuing excellence in development strategies together.
